FRANCO, LINDA AILEEN, 58 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

died on Saturday, February 25, 2012 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.  She was surrounded by her loving Family.  Linda fought a long courageous battle against cancer for the 3rd time.  She was born February 15, 1954 in Westmoreland County, PA to her late parents, Blaine Richard Walker and Alma Jane Ella Mae McAdams.  She was raised by her late grandparents, Thomas A. and Margarrett Swank McAdams Gess with much love and help from her uncle, Robert D. McAdams & wife Verne (Clawson) of Linesville, PA formerly of Blairsville, PA  Linda was a member of the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, PA, the Black Lick Volunteer Fire Department Ladies Auxiliary and Blairsville High School Marching Band Boosters.  She was a previous member of Creekside Fire Dept. Ladies Auxilary serving 1 year as Vice President and 1 year as Secretary.  She volunteered for 6 years as Photographer and Public Relation Officer for the Silvertone Kadets Baton and Drum Corp.  Linda was a Girl Scout Leader and Boy Scout Den Mother.  Linda attended Derry & Blairsville School Districts as well as graduating from Indiana County Technology Centers nursing program.  Through her lifetime Linda held many different jobs but the one she was most proud of and loved the most was raising her children, grandchildren and numerous foster children.  She is survived by her husband, Charles "Charlie" Franco Sr., Blairsville, PA whom she married on October 2, 1971 in Blairsville, PA, son, Charles "Chico" Franco, Jr. & fiance Jennifer (Datsko), Derry, PA, son, Daniel Pasquale Franco & wife Becky (Gonos), Midway, PA, son, Michael Robert "Mikey" Franco, Homer City, PA, son, Nick Franco & wife Christina (Kemmerer), Indiana, PA, grandchildren she raised since October 2001, Carmella, Billy, Tony & Michelle Franco, Blairsville, PA, additional grandchildren, Brittany, Courtney, Austin & Dillon, a very special niece, Adrienee & fiance William, grand niece, Maskya Rayne Marshall, Shelbyville, TN, brother, Ronald Weister & wife Lisa, Blairsville, PA, sister, Rita Yackovich & husband John, Jeannette, PA, brother, John Weister, Blairsville, PA, sister, Mary Weister, Blairsville, PA and uncle, Robert McAdams & wife Verne, Linesville, PA.  She is preceded in death by son, Joey Franco, brother, Michael A. Weister McAdams, USN, grand niece, Totiana Marshall and step-father, Ronald L. Newhouse.  The Family will receive friends on Tuesday, February 28, 2012 from 2-9 PM.  Derry Twp. Volunteer Fire Dept of Bradenville, PA will conduct services on Tuesday at 7 PM in the Funeral Home.  A Funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, February 29, 2012 at 9:30 AM in the Church of the Good Shepherd, Kent, PA.  Fr. Charles P. Esposito will officiate.  Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.  At Linda's request, in lieu of flowers, monetary donations may be made to the Family to help defray final expenses and funeral costs, which would be greatly appreciated.  She thanks everyone for their kind generosity now and also for all the help, care, kindness and prayers over the very difficult last few months for her and her Family!  " God Bless"
