TAYLOR, RICHARD C., 71, BLAIRSVILLE (BLACK LICK TWP.)

died peacefully in his sleep on Friday, March 16, 2012 at his home.  He was born February 4, 1941 in Indiana, PA, the son of the late Clair "Pete" Alexander Taylor and S. Francis (Anderson) Taylor.  He was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church, Blairsville, PA.  He retired from Penelec Generating Station in 1997 as a Control Room Operator.  He was a graduate of Indiana High School Class of 1959 and attended the Indiana State Teachers College.  He served as a Veteran in the US Air Force from 1959-1963.  He was an avid hunter and fisherman.  He was a loving Husband, Father, Brother, Grandfather, Uncle and Friend.  Dick was known for his quick wit, honesty and helpfulness.   He was the rock and foundation of his Family.  He was known to his Family as "Mr. Happy" and to his grandsons "Pap".  He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Mary E. (Allen) Taylor of Blairsville, PA, son, Douglas R. Taylor & wife Vicki of Blairsville, PA, daughter, Karen C. Guthrie & husband Jason of Cedar Point, NC, grandsons, Graham and Nash Guthrie of NC, sister, Cathy Gresock & husband Gerald of Home, PA, numerous Nieces & Nephews, special friends, Dick and Naomi Cochran and Clark Bruner and also his dog, Bailey.  He is preceded in death by his parents and an infant grand daughter, Hope Taylor.  The Family will receive friends on Sunday, March 18, 2012 from 1-4 PM, the time of the services, at the Ferguson Funeral Home, Blairsville.  Rev. Brett Dinger will officiate.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Four Footed Friends, 220 Beck Road, Indiana, PA 15701 or Salvation Army, 635 Water St., Indiana, PA 15701.
