George M. Romanish, Sr.

George M. Romanish, Sr., 85 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Sunday, February 18, 2024 at his home.  He was born November 16, 1938 in Coral, PA, the son of the late Marco Yurmonovic-Romanish and Mary (Vadas) Romanish.  George was a member of the Strangford First United Methodist Church.

He was a self-employed auto mechanic for over 30 years and had worked at C.R. Motors, formerly Boscos.  George enjoyed gardening, hunting and going to his hunting camp in Ohio.  He could fix anything and if he couldn't fix it, it couldn't be fixed.

He is survived by his daughter, Mary Ann McCurdy & husband, Mike, Strongstown, PA; son, George Romanish, Jr. & wife, Lori, Blairsville, PA; son, Robert Romanish & wife, Kimberly, Blairsville, PA; grandchildren:  Matthew, Marissa, Colton & Mila; his extended family members:  Paul & Pattie Ann, Samuel, Molly, Amanda, Melanie, Ryan, Megan,10 great grandchildren and his hunting buddies, Mike & Don Simpson.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Joseph & Mark Romanish; sisters, Dorothy Helbling and Catherine Carroll and companion, Patricia Cribbs.

The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Wednesday, February 21, 2024 from 4-7 PM.  Funeral Service will be held at 7 PM with Fr. Scott Lill officiating.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Shriners Hospital, 2900 Rocky Point Drive, Tampa, FL 33607.
