Lucy N. Kowatch

Lucy N. Kowatch, 97 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.  She was the daughter of the late Carlo and Catherine (Truski) Madonna and  Antonio and Raffaella (Marrocco) Costantino.  She was born in Baltimore, MD on January 7, 1927.  Lucy married the late Julius Kowatch on May 11, 1950 and had two sons, James & Paul.

She graduated from Blairsville High School and worked at Brody's Department Store in Indiana for 20 years.  Lucy was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church and had belonged to the Angels of Compassion and the Saint Theresa Catholic Daughters of America.  She also belonged to the 55 and over Club and the Women's Italian Auxiliary.  

Lucy is survived by her sons, Jim Kowatch & wife, Patricia, Latrobe, PA and Paul Kowatch & wife, Anne, Pittsburgh, PA; grandsons, Jason, Benjamin & wife, Jessica; granddaughter, Alexandra; great granddaughters, Caroline & Meredith and also several Nieces & Nephews.   She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Julius A. Kowatch in 1978; 5 brothers and 3 sisters.

In keeping with Lucy's wishes, there will be no visitation.  A funeral mass will be celebrated in the SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville on Tuesday, April 9, 2024 at 11 AM with Fr. Segundino Laude officiating. Interment will be held in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to SS Simon & Jude Church, 155 N. Brady St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
