GARVIN, CHERYL A.(Cherre) 70 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA (BLACKLICK TWP.)
Cherre went to be with the Lord on Saturday November 17, 2018 after a heroic battle with cancer. She was lovingly cared for at home by her husband and children. She was born November 16, 1948 in Alliance, OH, the daughter of the late Ralph and Lucille (Ostermeier) Cox. Cherre was trained as an LPN and will be remembered for her compassion to the animals she treated for many years at the Frazier Medical Group, Homer City, Pa. Cherre was a member of the Chapel of Hope, Black Lick, PA. She enjoyed spending time with her family and she was devoted to her Grandchildren. She enjoyed horseback riding, camping at Cook Forest, meteor showers, and getting away to the casinos with her husband. Her friends at the Blairsville Koffee Shop enjoyed her welcoming smile. She made the world's best pot roast and delivered an angel food cake to any friend in need. She often had a dog (or two )cuddled up on her lap. She could be found sharing a meal or making crafts with the cognitively disabled at Love and Light. Cherre was a proud survivor of Guillain-Barre. She is survived by her husband of 50 years, James S. Garvin Sr., Blairsville, PA; daughter, Christy Cook & husband, David, Homer City, PA; son, James S. Garvin, Jr. & wife, Kelly, Blairsville, PA; grandchildren: Luke, Kennedy, Ella, Ruby, John, Matt & Zach; sister, Diane Arwood & husband, Larry, OH; sister, Sandy Brion, OH; many Nieces & Nephews and her special friend, Weezie Brezinski. She was preceded in death by her brother, Michael Cox. The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Tuesday, November 20, 2018 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Chapel of Hope, Black Lick, PA on Wednesday, November 21, 2018 at 11:00 AM. Pastor David Kimball will officiate. Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Love & Light c|o Arlene Bell, Sts. Simon & Jude 155 N.
