Clarence "Butch" Elliott

ELLIOTT, CLARENCE "BUTCH", 69 OF LUCIUSBORO, PA

passed away on Tuesday, February 5, 2019 at  his home surrounded by his family.  He was born February 27, 1949 in Indiana, PA, the son of the late Elmer Elliott and Mary (Grove) Elliott.   He had attended the Homer City Alliance Church, Homer City, PA.  Butch served in the US Army during the Vietnam War.  He retired from United Mine Workers of America having worked in Helen Mines.   He loved hunting and fishing and was a member of the Red Barn Sportsman Club.  He enjoyed spending time with his family and enjoyed attending school activities that his grandchildren were involved in.  Butch is survived by his wife of 20 years, Catherine (Pyle) Elliott, Luciusboro, PA; son, Clarence "Skip" Elliott, Jr. & Diana Stevens, Chilicothe, OH; daughter, Tammy Black, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Diana Hullenbaugh & Mark Cannady, NC; daughter, Shari Shirley & husband, Rick, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Amira Elliott, Luciusboro, PA; daughter, Ayannah Elliott, Luciusboro, PA; grandchildren: Chelsea, Amanda, Katie, Angel, Danelle, Ricky, Sami, Dustin & Tamra ; great grandchildren, Brayden, Evrik, Conner & Noah; siblings: Betty Daugherty, Latrobe, PA, Jack Elliott & wife, Dorothy, Indiana, PA,  Shirley Franco, Coral, PA,  Nancy Dixon, West Decatur, PA, Francis Ober & husband, Charles, Greensburg, PA, Robert Elliott, St. Petersburg, FL, James Elliott & wife, Phyllis, Homer City, PA, Janice Gibbons & husband, Howard, Blairsville, PA, Diane Cochran, Emporium, PA, Rick Elliott & wife, Sandy, Indiana, PA and also many Nieces & Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his son-in-law, Gregory L. Black in 2018 and his other siblings: Elmer Elliott, Jr., Dorothy Hamilton, Kathy Dougoui, Margaret Lear, Linda Elliott and Thomas Elliott.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Thursday, February 7, 2019 from 4:00 PM to 8:00 PM  and  also Friday, February 8, 2019  from 12:00 PM  to 1:30 PM at the Homer City Alliance Church, 4674 Old US 119 Hwy. S., Homer City, PA 15748.  A funeral service will be held at 1:30 PM in the church.   Rev. Jon Ditter and Chaplain Larry Coltura  will co-officiate.  A military service will be held Friday afternoon in the Church.  In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St., Blairsville, PA 15717 to help with final expenses.
