Dave "Base" Thomas

THOMAS, DAVE "BASE", 60 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 at UPMC Shadyside Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA.  He was born February 24, 1959 in Latrobe, PA, son of the late Clair Thomas and Lois (Hughes) Thomas. Dave retired from Torrance State Hospital after 35 years of service.  "Mr. Baseball" as some knew him.  He loved the game and knew all the players and stats.  He was a Pirates and Steelers fan.  He enjoyed traveling, antiquing and his guns.  He was a member of the Derry Rod & Gun Club.  He is survived by his wife of 39 years, Kathryn (Harsh) Thomas, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Amy McClellan & husband, Will, Texarkana, TX; grand son, William McClellan IV, Texarkana, TX; sister, Lorraine Lawson & husband, Tom, Carlyse, PA; sister, Margaret "Peg" Burd & husband, Mark, Hillside, PA; brother, Forrest "Trees" Thomas & wife, Janie, New Derry, PA; brother-in-law, Frank Harsh, Blairsville, PA and also numerous Nieces & Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his brothers, John & Lenny Thomas; sister, Virginia Thomas and father & mother-in-law, Harold & Betsy Harsh. In keeping with Dave's wishes, all services will be private.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Dave's name.
