Donna N. (Weinell) Carlson

CARLSON, DONNA N. (WEINELL), 83 OF HILLSIDE, PA

passed away on  Saturday, April 07, 2018 at Loyalhanna Care Center, Latrobe, PA.  She was born June 17, 1934 in Blairsville, PA, the daughter of the late Joseph J. Weinell and Nellie (Rosbourgh) Weinell.  Donna was a 1952 graduate of Blairsville High School.  She had worked at the former A&P Store in Blairsville for many years.  Donna was a lifetime member of the First United Methodist Church, Blairsville, where she taught Sunday school for many years.  She was a member of the Order of Eastern Star and Jobs Daughters.  She also enjoyed traveling with her husband & family.  Donna is survived by her husband of 62 years, Richard H. Carlson, Hillside, PA; son, Richard L. Carlson, Clinton, NC; daughter, Sharon E. Cassatt & husband, Donald, Sykesville, MD; grandchild, Shannon Grissom & husband, Tyler, Christiansburg, VA; grandchild - Taylor Cassatt, Reistertown, MD; grandchild, Sarah Cassatt, Hunt Valley, MD and grandchild, Jordan Cassatt at home.  She was preceded in death by her brothers: James, Carl, Art & Ken Weinell and sister, Lois Jenner.  In keeping with Donna's wishes, there will be no visitations.  A memorial service  will be held in the First United Methodist Church, 50 S. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA on  Thursday, April 12, 2018 at 11:00 AM.  With her nephew,  Pastor Rob Ingmire  officiating.  Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Women of Faith Circle, of the First United Methodist Church, 50 S. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
