Dr. S. Donald Furnary

FURNARY, DR. S. DONALD, 92 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Monday, April 1, 2019 at Jupiter, FL.  He was born March 23, 1927 in Johnstown, PA, the son of the late Michael Furnary and Mary (Leppert) Furnary.  He was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, PA.  Donald was a graduate of Johnstown High School and Pennsylvania College of Optometry.  He practiced optometry in Blairsville for 42 years.   He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Eleanor (Mazzoni) Furnary, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Michelle Rainsberger, CT; daughter, Cheryl DiFerdinando & husband, George, FL; daughter, Jannine David & husband, Ralph, Murrysville, PA; 7 Grandchildren and 4 Great Grandchildren.  He was preceded in death by his brother, Joseph Furnary and son-in-law, William Rainsberger.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Friday, April 26, 2019 from 4-8 PM.  A wake service will be held at 7:30 PM in the Funeral Home.  A memorial mass will be held on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at 10:00 AM in SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, PA.  Fr. Stephen R. Bugay will officiate. Interment will be in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.  In lieu of flowers, please send donations to Blairsville Historical Society, 116 E.
