Irene T. "Renie" Sloan

SLOAN, IRENE T. "RENIE", 87, BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Sunday, March 17, 2019  at her home.  She was born September 5, 1931 in McChesneytown, PA, the daughter of the late John Baran and Mary (Revitsky) Baran.  She was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, PA, where she belonged to the Angels of Compassion. She used to work at the former Health Mart in Blairsville.   Renie enjoyed line dancing for many years and also walking her dog around the old swimming pool and football field.  She is survived by her daughter, Janet Wisz & husband, Richard, Clearwater, FL; son, Paul Sloan, Sarasota, FL; son, Mark Sloan & wife, Joanne, Duncansville, PA; son, Craig Sloan, Blairsville, PA; grandchildren:  Michael, Kevin, Chadd, Briana, Kylie, Steven and Carson and great grandchildren: Chaeli, Kadence, Allee & Everly; sister, Mary Guidice, Latrobe, PA; sister, Martha Soich, Greensburg, PA and many Nieces & Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Paul LeRoy "Beanie" Sloan in 1998; son, David Sloan in 1975 and brother, John Baran.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market Street,  Blairsville, PA on Friday, March 22, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM  and  6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A wake service will be held Friday evening at 7:30 PM in the Funeral Home.  Prayers of transfer will be held in the funeral home on Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 9:15 AM, prior to a funeral mass at SS Simon & Jude Church on  Saturday, March 23, 2019 at 10:00 AM.  Fr. Stephen R. Bugay will officiate.  Interment will be in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Renie's name to the Humane Society, 191 Airport Road, Indiana, PA 15701 or St. Vincent DePaul, 614 Jefferson St., Latrobe, PA 15650
