Wayne A. Gunderson

GUNDERSON, WAYNE A., 84 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on  Sunday, March 3, 2019  at Greensburg Care Center, Greensburg, PA.  He was born January 18, 1935  Glenham, SD, the son of the late Alfred Gunderson and Verna (Johnson) Gunderson.  He was a member of the Christian & Missionary Alliance Church, Blairsville, PA.  He was a US Navy veteran having served from 1955-1959.  Wayne was a retired iron worker Local #3.  He enjoyed gardening and playing cards.  Wayne is survived by his daughter, Tammy Dietrich & husband, William, Latrobe, PA; grandchildren: William Dietrich & wife, Kelsey, Latrobe, PA and Ashley McCullough & husband, Jared, Beaver Falls, PA, great grandchildren: Rylee McCullough,  Camden Dietrich,  Levi McCullough and  Weston Dietrich; brother, Raymond Dean Gunderson & wife, Virginia, AR and sister, Betty Lindeman & husband, Albert, SD.  He was preceded in death by his wife, Geraldine (Jilek) Gunderson in 2016, his 1st wife, Catherine (Stewart) Gunderson in 1975 and sister, Nola Gunderson, SD.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., Blairsville, PA on Wednesday, March 6, 2019 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 7:00 PM to 9:00 PM.   A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home on Thursday, March 7, 2019 at 11:00 AM.    Rev. Clarke Lauffer will officiate.   VFW Post #5821 & the American Legion Post #0407 will conduct military services Thursday morning in the Funeral Home.  Interment will be in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, PA  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to St. Jude Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or the Wounded Warrior Project, PO Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675.
