Alda L. Amond

AMOND, ALDA L., 94 OF INDIANA, PA FORMERLY OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Saturday, October 18, 2014 at  her home.  She was born March 04, 1920 in Blairsville, PA, the daughter of the late J.W. Lee and Twila (Fleming) Lee.  She was a member of the United Presbyterian Church, Blairsville, PA.  In 1953 she and her husband owned the former Amond's Jewelry in Blairsville, PA until 1983.  Alda was a member of the Order of Eastern Star #166 of Blairsville and several card clubs. She is survived by her husband of 72 years, Maynard D. "Red" Amond of Indiana, PA, sister, Twyla Clawson of Matthews, NC and several Nieces & Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her sister, Alice Condron, brother, William Lee and sister, Francis Feeley.  In keeping with Alda's wishes, there will be no visitation.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. on  Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 10-11:00 AM, the time of the memorial service.  Rev. Timothy Monroe and Rev. Dr. Roger D. Petersen will co-officiate.  If so desired, memorial donations may be the Blairsville Public Library, 113 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
