Dorothy J. (Paterson) Rager

RAGER, DOROTHY J. (PATERSON), 87 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Friday, February 14, 2020 at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.  She was born October 08, 1932 in Blairsville, PA, the daughter of the late David  B. Paterson and Helen (Repinski) Paterson.  Dorothy formerly worked at Federal Lab in Tunnelton and for Sears in Indiana, PA.  Along with her husband, they owned and operated the former Colonial Market in Brenizer, PA and Economy Beer in Blairsville, PA.  She belonged to the SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, where she was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court of St. Theresa and the women's choir.  Dorothy loved gardening, planting flowers, and spending time with her family and Dog, Max.  She is survived by her son, Walter R. Rager & wife, Vicki, Blairsville, PA; son, Greg J. Rager & wife, Paula, Derry, PA; daughter, Kimberly Zarichnak & husband, Greg, Blairsville, PA; grandchildren: Tim Rager & wife, Susan, Homer City, PA, Rebecca Lear & husband, Heath, Blairsville, PA, Emily Rager, Greensburg, PA, Gregory Rager, Jr., Derry, PA, Keith Rager, Derry, PA, John Lance, III & girlfriend, Madeline Helm, Indiana, PA, Nicholas Lance, Blairsville, PA and Joseph Lance, Blairsville, PA; great grandchildren: Logan, Riley & Alex and also many Nieces & Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Walter F.  Rager in 1997; infant twin sons and also several Brothers & Sisters.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717, Blairsville, PA on Sunday, February 16, 2020 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. CDA will recite the rosary at 3:00 PM on Sunday.  A wake service will be held on Sunday evening at 7:30 PM in the Funeral Home.  Prayers of transfer will be held Monday, February 17, 2020 at 9:15 AM in the Funeral Home, prior to a funeral mass in SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville, PA at 10:00 AM.  Fr. Stephen R. Bugay  will officiate.  Interment will be held in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
