Duff W. McGill

MCGILL, DUFF W., 89 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Wednesday, August 17, 2022 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA.  He was born April 18, 1933 in Sharon , PA, the son of the late Duff S. McGill and Elizabeth (Wilson) McGill.  Duff was a graduate of Blairsville High School Class of 1951.  He was a veteran of the Korean war, having served in the United States Air Force for 1952-1956.  He married Vilma F. Bertoncini on May 29, 1958.  They were married for 57 years until her passing on November 10, 2015.  He retired from Agway Energy Corporation in 1995.  After retirement  Duff  worked for the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. for almost 20 years.  He was also Judge of Elections for many years.  He belonged to the VFW & American Legion, both of Blairsville, PA. He is survived by his sister, Nancy Klawier, Canada; nieces & nephews: Eugene & Gerri Esposito, Mavis & Edwin Santoro, Mark & Nancy Trausi, Amy Bertoncini, Jamie & Ron Penich, Mike & Mary Jo Bertoncini, Leann & Bill Thelin, Thomas & Francine Farley, Joseph & Jennie Farley, Donna & Chuck Hussey, Deena Kelly, GiGi Grosso, Jill Groves, Ivy Fessenbecker & Jebby Bertoncini and also many Great Nieces & Nephews, Great Great Nieces & Nephews & Great Great Great Nephews.  He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Sunday, August 21, 2022 from 1-6 PM.  A funeral service will be held at 6 PM in the Funeral Home with  Rev. Timothy Monroe officiating.  US Air Force and the Blairsville Military Honor Guard will conduct military services after the service.  Interment will be held in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Blairsville Volunteer Fire Co., 51 W. Campbell St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
