Edith I. (Craver) Harris

Edith I. (Craver) Harris, 94, formerly of Torrance, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 14, 2026 at Brookdale Latrobe, Latrobe, PA.  She was born December 9, 1931 in Winston-Salem, NC, the daughter of the late Paul Craver and Elizabeth (Faw) Craver.

Edith graduated from the Charlotte Memorial Hospital School of Nursing and furthered her education by obtaining a B.S. in Nursing at Saint Joseph's College.  She retired after 25 years as an RN at Torrance State Hospital.  She was a member of the Hebron Lutheran Church, Blairsville, Bethel Guardian of Job's Daughters #5/6, White Shrine, Red Hat Society, and was a 50+ year member of the Eastern Star.

Edith is survived by her daughters, Beverly Guyer & husband, Dennis, Derry, PA and Karen M. Frye & husband, William, Blairsville, PA;  granddaughters, Amy Fedorchak & husband, Robert, Mars, PA and Donna Zitterbart & husband, Ryan, Douglasville, GA; great grandchildren, Hannah Zitterbart, Ivan Huffman & wife, Deborah, Andrew Huffman and Hayden Fedorchak and her brothers:  Lewis Craver, King, NC, Robert Craver & wife, Linda, Lexington, NC and Steve Craver & wife, Jennifer, Durham, NC.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of 55 years, Elden C. Harris in 2009; granddaughter, Paula Guyer and siblings, Charles Craver, Glenn Craver, Rachael Flynt and Margaret Brown.

The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Sunday, May 17, 2026 from 1-5 PM. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 11AM with Arlene Jones officiating. The Indiana County Nurse Honor Guard will hold a brief service at 1 PM on Sunday, May 17, 2026 to commemorate her years of service as a nurse.  Interment will be held in the Twin Valley Memorial Park, Delmont, PA.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice in Edith's memory.  The family would also like to thank the staff of Brookdale Latrobe and Bridges Hospice for the wonderful care given to Edith.
