Edward R. Boring

Edward R. Boring, 78 of New Florence, PA, passed away on Monday, September 18, 2023 at Conemaugh Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown, PA.  He was born March 16, 1945 in New Florence, PA, the son of the late Kenneth Boring and Tessie (Shilling) Boring.  He was a US Navy Veteran of the Vietnam War.  Ed was a coal miner having worked for R&P Coal Company and was a member of the United Mine Workers.  He enjoyed coon hunting, collecting antique jars, spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and watching cowboys and westerns on TV.

He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Victoria (Pavlick) Boring, New Florence, PA; son, Stephen Boring & wife, Becky, Indiana, PA; grandchildren, Chet Boring & Reagan Boring, Indiana, PA and also one Brother.  He was preceded in death by his parents; son, Neal E. Boring and siblings: Jean Boring, Bert Boring, Monroe Boring and Betts Boring.

The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Friday, September 22, 2023 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM.  Additional visitation will be on Saturday, September 23, 2023 from 11 AM till 1:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held at 1 PM with Pastor James Sunseri officiating.  Interment will be held in the Bethel Cemetery, New Florence, PA.  Blairsville Military Honor Guard and the US Navy will conduct graveside military services.
