Eugene F. Calabrese

Eugene F. Calabrese, 77 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Tuesday, February 25, 2025 at his home.  He was born September 3, 1947 in Indiana, PA, the son of the late Emidio Calabrese and Helen (Cicola) Calabrese.  He was a 1967 Blairsville High School graduate and attended Penn Tech of Pittsburgh.  He held a photography degree, had courses in refrigeration, electronics, computer repair, had a secondary social science education degree and a masters degree in History at IUP, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Eugene was an electronic technician at Syntron and was a substitute teacher for years.   He was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville Historical Society, Chestnut Hills Senior Center and the Burrell Rod & Gun Club, where he enjoyed shooting.

Eugene is survived by several cousins.  He was preceded in death by his parents.  There will be no visitation.  A funeral mass will be celebrated in the SS Simon & Jude Church on Friday, February 28, 2025 at 1:30 PM with Fr. Segundino Laude officiating.  Interment will be held in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to Chestnut Hills Social Center, 26 Heybert Drive, Blairsville, PA 15717.
