Gene R. Cenis

Gene R. Cenis, 85 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, August 31, 2024 at Independence Health System Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA. He was born August 12, 1939 in Wilkinsburg, PA, the son of the late Damon M. Cenis and Rosella L. (Hags) Cenis. He had attended a United Methodist Church.  Gene served in the US Army from 1957-1958 and had worked as a heavy equipment operator.  He enjoyed taking animal photography and going to national parks, especially Yellow Stone.

He is survived by his wife, Shirley J. (Hill) Stewart, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Sharon Dahl & husband, William, MN; daughter, Gayle Nolan & husband, Timothy, MN; grandchildren,  Quintin & Genevieve Dahl; stepchildren: Ronda Deemer & husband Todd, Blairsville, PA,  Ronald Stewart, Jr., Blairsville, PA and Rodney Stewart & wife Jessie, Oil City, PA and his step-grandchildren: Carley & Connor Stewart, Matthew Deemer & Holly Platt & husband, Wade.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Alan Cenis.

In keeping with Gene's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
