went to be in the arms of Jesus on Saturday, May 01, 2021 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh, PA. She was born Sunday, July 28, 1935 in Black Lick, PA, the daughter of the late Luther Shirley and Mary (Palmer) Shirley. She was a member of the Grace Bible Chapel Church, Black Lick, PA. Goldie was a member of the Ladies Auxiliary of the Black Lick Fire Company for over 40 years where she loved volunteering at every event.. She loved flea marketing and going to yard sales. Goldie loved all of her nieces & nephews. She is survived by her friend, Victor Buchinski, Black Lick, PA; sister, Violet Palmer, Josephine, PA; sister, Lucille McKendrick, Black Lick, PA; sister, Thelma Plovetsky & husband, Larry, Black Lick, PA; brother, Luther "Sam" Shirley & wife, Linda, Blairsville, PA; brother, Thomas Shirley & wife, Claire, Black Lick, PA and also many Nieces & Nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert English; step-son, Alvin English; step-daughter, Sandy Sulkosky; sister, Roberta Bryner; brother, Kenneth "Butch" Shirley and several Nieces & Nephews. The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 Tuesday, May 04, 2021 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM. A funeral service will be held in the Funeral Home on Wednesday, May 05, 2021 at 11:00 AM. Pastor John Johnson will officiate. Masks are required in the Funeral Home. Interment will be held in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Blairsville, PA. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St., Blairsville, PA 15717 to help with funeral expenses.
