Ivan B. Zimmerman

Ivan B.  Zimmerman, 72 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 23, 2023, at Excela Health Latrobe Hospital, Latrobe, PA.  He was born October 16, 1951, in West Earl Twp., PA, the son of the late Ivan Zimmerman and Esther (Burkholder) Zimmerman.  He was a member of the Blairsville Mennonite Church.  Ivan had worked at the Blairsville Sawmill and was a former farmer in New York.  He was a hard worker, enjoyed mission work in the Bahamas and spending time with his family.  He married Mabel on November 20, 1971.

He is survived by his wife, Mabel (Fox) Zimmerman; children:  Vernon F.m. Christina Stoltzfus, Peyton, CO, Thelma F.m. John Brubacker, Townville, PA, Janet F.m. Jason Jones, Blairsville, PA, Joanne F.m. Mervin Weaver, Homer City, PA, Ivan Ray m. Judith Steiner, Great Falls, MT, Lorene F.m. Calvin Martin, Homer City, PA, Gilbert F. & partner, Tiffany Wagner, Mifflintown, PA, Louanne F.m Larry Brubaker, Fredericktown, OH, Rosalyn F.m. Marlin Burkholder, Lowville, NY and Esther Fay m. Anthony Gehman, Blairsville, PA.  He is also survived by 62 grandchildren; 5 great grandchildren and his siblings:  Aaron B.m. Edith Martin, Alvin B.m. Irene Weaver, Leon B.m. Alta Burkholder, Mary B.m. Daniel Hoover, Martha B.m. Amos Hoover, Marian B.m. Paul Showalter, Rufus B.m. Edith Weiler, Esther B., Landis B.m. Loretta Wenger, James B.m. Grace Ann Hoover, Marvin B.m. Marilyn Hoover, Laurence B.m. Lisa Zimmerman and Raymond B.m. Esther Mae Martin.  He was preceded in death by his parents; brother, John David Zimmerman and grandchild, Janesa Brooke Martin.

The family will receive friends at the Blairsville Mennonite Church on Thursday, December 28, 2023, from 1-4 & 6-8 PM.  Funeral Service will be held in the Blairsville Mennonite Church on Friday, December 29, 2023, at 10:00 AM with interment to follow in the Blairsville Mennonite Cemetery, Blairsville, PA.
