Jennie Fay (Murdick) Cochran

COCHRAN, JENNIE FAY (MURDICK), 81 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Friday, December 9, 2022 at UPMC Presbyterian, Pittsburgh, PA.  She was born June 21, 1941 in Brush Valley Twp., PA, the daughter of the late Clair Murdick and Elizabeth (Barr) Murdick.  She had worked at Blairsville Machine, Sewing Factory, Blairsville, Hecks and Montgomery Ward.  She enjoyed gardening, cake decorating, knitting, crocheting, spending time with her family and being a GiGi.  Jennie was a member of the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Homer City, PA.  She is survived by her children:  Lori Rizer & husband, Ron, Blairsville, PA, Christina Shilling & husband, David, Indiana, PA and Shawn Cochran & his partner, Eric Burdette, Summerville, SC; grandchildren: Robert Rizer & wife, Kayla, Blairsville, PA, James Rizer & wife, Courtney, Blairsville, PA, Williem Rizer, Lexington, KY, Samantha Goss & husband, Devin, Marion Center, PA and Tyler Shilling & girlfriend, Breanna Sokol, Indiana, PA;  Great Grandchildren: Jaxson, Jace, Zoey, Adren & Kamden; siblings: Gilbert Murdick & wife, Alice, Erie, PA, Rita Lawson, Schuylkill Haven, PA, Charles Thomas Murdick & Joan Kavatec, Creekside, PA, Randy Murdick & wife, Vicki, Potosi, MI and Minta Livengood, Saltsburg, PA; special friend, Joe Caugherty, Blairsville, PA and also many Nieces & Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Robert L. "Red" Cochran in 2019 and brother, Donald Barr.

The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Thursday, December 15, 2022 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Hope Evangelical Lutheran Church, Homer City, PA on Friday, December 16, 2022 at 11:00 AM.  Pastor Stephen Bond will officiate.  Interment will be held in the Brush Valley Lutheran Cemetery, Brush Valley, Pennsylvania.
