John I. Palmer, Jr., 83 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Sunday, April 28, 2024 at his home. He was born March 11, 1941 in Blairsville, PA, the son of the late John I. Palmer, Sr. and Bessie (Ewing) Palmer. John served in the US Army. He was a member of the Mt. Tabor United Methodist Church, Blairsville. John had worked at Derry Westinghouse as a machine operator. He was a former member of the Blairsville Elks, enjoyed bowling, working on the farm and spending time coaching baseball. John loved his grandkids and attending their sporting events.
He is survived by his son, Mark Palmer & wife, Kimberly, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Robin Livingston, Blairsville, PA; daughter-in-law, Lisa Palmer, Indiana, PA; grandchildren: Chelsea Palmer, Rebecca Palmer, Amanda Bosnik & husband, Jesse, Justin Palmer & fiancee, Rachael, Lucas Palmer, Nichole Brannan & husband, Zach, Mackenzie Livingston and Cameron Livingston & wife, Cassidy; great grandchildren: Mitchell Palmer, Declan, Cohen & Brecken Brannan and Beau & Collins Bosnik; brother, Casey Palmer, Black Lick, PA and sister, Barb Palmer, Latrobe, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Thelma (Lambing) Palmer in 2022; son, John I. Palmer, III; son-in-law, Stacy Livingston and siblings: Esther, Shirley, Harry, Larry & Robert.
The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Wednesday, May 1, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM. Funeral Service will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company on Thursday, May 2, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Jack Lucas officiating.
Interment will be held in the Mt. Tabor Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania. Blairsville Military Honor Guard and the US Army will conduct graveside military services.
