Joseph A. Sabedra, Sr.

Joseph A. Sabedra, Sr. 92 of Torrance, PA, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, October 4, 2023 surrounded by his family.  He was born  May 28, 1931 in Torrance, PA, the son of the late Joseph A. Sabedra and Francesca (Lara) Sabedra.  Joe was a US Navy veteran having served during the Korean War.   He was a member of SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville.  Joe worked at Westinghouse as a Tube Finisher for 35 years.  He loved all Pittsburgh sports and went to many Blairsville & Derry sporting events. 

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Peggy Lou (McGarry) Sabedra, Torrance, PA; son, Joseph Sabedra, Jr., Blairsville, PA; son, Edward Sabedra & wife, Diane, Blairsville, PA; granddaughters, Alyse Gerwick & husband, Josh, Phoenixville, PA and Alexa Sabedra Janicsek & husband, Jonathan, Cincinnati, OH and also great grandchildren, Eliza & Enola.  He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers:  John, Valleriano "Gus" and Pete Sabedra

Joe requests that there are no viewing or services.  Interment will be held in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
