Margaret Hunter Obituary

Margaret “Megan” A. Hunter, 42, of Wheeling, IL, passed away on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Butler Memorial Hospital.  She was born February 1, 1981 in Elgin, IL, the daughter of the late Darlene “Dee” (Hunter) Zehnle and Edward Zehnle.

Megan was a Team Lead Auditor having worked for Dovenmuehle Mortgage.  Megan was an animal lover and cherished her pups:  Virginia, Dutch, Gizmo, Bugsy, Meyer and Capone.  She was passionate about many things, including:  music, crocheting, volleyball, softball and dancing.  Megan was the family photographer and loved making memories by capturing those moments by taking pictures of her family and friends.

None of those are more important than the time spent with the people in her life.  Megan was a very outgoing person and easily made friends with everyone she met.  Her caring and loving personality was infectious to all who met her, and will be heavily missed by those closest to her.  Her daughter meant the world to her and she will always be with her “Noodle Bug” whom she loved to the moon and back.

Megan left an undeniable mark on the world. She was a bright light and people smiled when she was around. She brightened people's days, had the biggest heart and would do anything to help anyone. She was the best Mommy, Partner, Companion, Kindred Soul, Side Kick, Sister, Cousin, Aunt, Niece and Friend. Mommy gave the best hugs.

Megan is survived by her daughter, Rylyn Hunter-DiCriscio, Blairsville, PA; her best friend and person, Elizabeth DiCriscio, Blairsville, PA; sister, Stacie Meza and husband Eden, Wheeling, IL; brother, David Hunter, Wheeling, IL; niece and nephew, Dolores and Diego Serratos; and her fur babies, Meyer and Capone.

She was preceded in death by her parents; brother-in-law, Carlos Serratos; and her fur babies, Virginia, Dutch, Gizmo and Bugsy.

A memorial service will be held at Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA, 15717 on Sunday, January 28, 2024 from 2PM-4PM.
