Martin Shimps Obituary

Martin Shimps, 96 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2024 at Indiana Regional Medical Center, Indiana, PA. He was born March 12, 1927 in Coral, PA, the son of the late Joseph Shimps and Mary Shimps. Martin was a WW II & Korean War veteran. He had worked at Torrance State Hospital as an Aide and then retired from Helen Mining Company. He enjoyed working around the house and gardening.

He is survived by his wife, Annabelle Lee (Wilson) Shimps, Blairsville, PA; son, Tom Borbonus & wife, Shelley, Blairsville, PA; son, Brian Borbonus & wife, Debbie, Lewisville, PA; son, Dave Borbonus & wife, Darcy, Blairsville, PA; son, Denny Borbonus & wife, Maggie, Irwin, PA; son, Harry Borbonus & Jamie, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Nancy Kanurick; many grandchildren & step-grandchildren and sister, Carol Sarnosky, Youngstown, PA. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Annza Kanurick; brothers, Tom, Fred & Billy Shimps; sister, Delores Market and son, Ron Kanurick.

In keeping with Martin's wishes, there will be no visitation or services.
