PETERSON, RICHARD L., 93, BLAIRSVILLE, PA
passed away on Thursday, May 05, 2022 at his home. He was born October 24, 1928 in Punxsutawney, PA, the son of the late Edward L. Peterson and Theresa (Lovell) Peterson. He served in the US Army during the Korean War and served in the National Guard. Rich was a member of the Blairsville VFW Post #5821 and belonged to the First Church of Christ. He retired from Penelec after 20 years of service. He enjoyed hunting, drinking his coffee while sitting on his porch and spending time with his Grandchildren. He is survived by his son, William L. Peterson & wife Vali, Grove City, PA; daughter, Kathy Irene Griffith & husband, Thomas, Bolivar, PA; son, Richard L. Peterson, Jr. & wife, Patricia, Mechanicsburg, PA; daughter, Barbara J. Detwiler , Blairsville, PA; son, Michael A. Peterson, CO; 12 Grandchildren & 15 Great Grandchildren; sister, Helen R. McClaren, Torrance, PA and brother, James L. Peterson, FL. He was preceded in death by his wife, Jane E. (Foster) Peterson in 2011; sister, Florence McClain and brothers, Edward, Jack & Victor Peterson. In keeping with Richard's wishes, all services will be private. If so desired, memorial donations may be made to First Church of Christ, 104 Maple St., Bolivar, PA 15923.
