Roy Stephen Campbell

Roy Stephen Campbell, 57 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Sunday, June 2, 2024 at Forbes Regional Hospital, Monroeville, PA.  He was born September 29, 1966 in Greensburg, PA, the son of the late Randall Campbell and Norma (Stephens) Campbell. 

Roy graduated from The Pennsylvania State University with a BS degree in Agricultural Education and an MS from Duquesne University. For thirty-six years Roy was an Ag educator at both Derry Area and Penns Manor School Districts. Roy was the recipient of many professional recognitions including 2023 Outstanding Agricultural Horticultural program in the state of Pennsylvania.  Roy loved his farm and his family’s flock of registered Dorset sheep. A fan of all things Penn State, Roy spent many weekends with Lisa at Penn State football games. Roy was involved with Boy Scout Troop 4 of Blairsville as a leader and the proud father of 2 Eagle Scouts.  A member of First Methodist Church of Blairsville Roy served many years on the Board of Trustees. Involved in the Ag community in Indiana and Westmoreland Roy led many efforts to provide opportunities for youth to flourish through fairs and other events.  Roy was loved by many including family, former students and colleagues.

He is survived by his wife of 31 years, Lisa (Fertal) Campbell, Blairsville, PA; son, Stephen A. Campbell, Blairsville, PA; son, Cory R. Campbell, Blairsville, PA; brother, Todd Campbell, Carlisle, PA; brother, Kevin R. Campbell & wife, Cathy, Shippensburg, PA and Father & Mother-in-law- Garry and Barbara Fertal.  He was preceded in death by his parents and nephew, Christopher Campbell.

The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home & Monument Company, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Wednesday, June 5, 2024 from 2-4 & 6-8 PM.  Additional visitation will be held at Blairsville First Methodist Church on Thursday, June 6, 2024  from 10-11 AM.  A funeral service will be held at 11:00 AM with Pastor Bob Penrose officiating.  Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.  If so desired, memorial donations may be made to the Roy Campbell Memorial Scholarship, c/o Derry Area School District Foundation, 982 N. Chestnut St. Ext., Derry, PA 15627.
