Shirley A. Hapsic

HAPSIC, SHIRLEY A., 84 FORMERLY OF TORRANCE, PA

passed away on Thursday, February 09, 2023 at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA.  She was born August 01, 1938 in Torrance, PA, the daughter of the late Kenneth Allen and Mary (Martin) Allen. Shirley was a 1956 graduate of Blairsville High School and also graduated from IUP with a teaching degree. She had worked at Torrance State Hospital as a social worker and worked at Torrance Post Office.  She was a member of Our Lady of the Assumption parish, Coral, PA.  She enjoyed reading, doing word searches, cross stitch and adult coloring.  Shirley was the best cookie baker around.  She is survived by her daughters, Ann Shaw & husband, Dale, Lakeland, FL and Susan Harris & husband, Bill, Torrance, PA; grandchildren: Sarah DeValerio, Hanceville, AL, Gregory DeValerio, Chandler, AZ and Billy Harris, Torrance, PA; brother, Jerry Allen & wife, Peggy, Blairsville, PA; sister, Mary "Libby" Taylor, Blairsville, PA; brother, Denny Allen & wife, Gail, Lititz, PA and Several Nieces & Nephews.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, William Hapsic; brother, Preston Allen and Niece, Hope Ann Taylor.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Saturday, February 18, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM.  A  memorial service will be held at 11 AM with Pastor Dawn Krishart officiating.  Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
