DeRUBIS JR., VICTOR E., 90 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA
passed away on Saturday, March 07, 2020 at Communities of Indian Haven, Indiana, PA. He was born January 29, 1930 in Blairsville, PA, the son of the late Victor E. DeRubis Sr. and Madeline (Prosutti) DeRubis. He was a member of the SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville. Vic retired from Blairsville Westinghouse after 36 years of service in the shipping department. He was a social member of the former Blairsville Italian Club and member of the Blairsville Westinghouse Veterans Association. Vic was a US Army Veteran, having served during the Korean War as a paratrooper and Military Policeman. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. He liked the Pirates, Steelers and enjoyed the Blairsville Boilermakers. Vic is survived by his wife of 62 years, Rita (Ferrante) DeRubis, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Karen Yockey & husband, Ron, Indiana, PA; daughter-in-law, Susan DeRubis, Blairsville, PA; sister, Patricia Emanuelson , OH; brother, Ted DeRubis, FL; sister, Sharon DeRubis, KS and also Nieces, Great Nieces & Great Nephews. He is preceded in death by his son, Michael E. DeRubis in 2017; brother, Gilbert DeRubis & wife, Trudy; infant brother, Gerald and father and mother-in-law, Ernie & Nellie Ferrante Beskid. In keeping with Vic's wishes, there will be no visitation. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at SS Simon & Jude Church, 155 N. Brady St., Blairsville, PA on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Fr. Stephen R. Bugay will officiate. VFW Post #5821 & The American Legion Post #0407 will conduct military services Tuesday morning. Interment will be in the SS Simon & Jude Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
