PALMER, VIOLET F. (SHIRLEY), 84 OF JOSEPHINE, PA

passed away on Sunday, February 26, 2023 at her home. She was born August 21, 1938 in Palmerton, PA, the daughter of the late Luther Shirley and Mary (Palmer) Shirley.  Violet loved going to yard sales, auctions, spending time with all of her family and especially enjoyed cooking Sunday dinners.  She is survived by her children:  Frank Palmer, Jr., Josephine, PA, Donna Henry, Blairsville, PA, Robert "Higgs" Palmer, Black Lick, PA, Rhonda Barnhart, Blairsville, PA, Brenda Palmer, Blairsville, PA, Mark Palmer, Black Lick, PA, Patricia Guile & husband, James, Josephine, PA; David Palmer, Homer City, PA; Jennie Cooper & husband, Terry, Josephine, PA and Ed Palmer, Black Lick, PA; 29 Grandchildren, 46 Great Grandchildren and  Several Great Great Grandchildren; siblings: Thelma Plovetsky, Black Lick, PA, Lucille McKendrick, Palmerton, PA, Thomas Shirley & wife, Claire, Palmerton, PA and Sam Shirley & wife, Linda, Blairsville, PA.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Franklin Palmer, Sr. and siblings: Virginia Palmer, Roberta Bryner, Goldie English and Kenneth Shirley.  

The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Wednesday, March 01, 2023 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A funeral service will be held in the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc. on Thursday, March 02, 2023 at 11:00 AM.  Rev. John Johnson  will officiate.  Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
