Virginia A. (Deal) Howard

Virginia A. (Deal) Howard, 97 of Blairsville, PA, passed away on Saturday, December 30, 2023 at Indian Haven, Indiana, PA.  She was born April 28, 1926 in Greensburg, PA, the daughter of the late Burton Deal and Dorothy (Hutchinson) Deal.  Virginia was a member of the Hopewell United Methodist Church where she was cemetery secretary and sang in the choir.  She had worked at Torrance State Hospital as a nurse.  Virginia was a Cub Scout Den Mother, enjoyed quilting, crafting, doing crossword puzzles, fishing, watching the deer and spending time with her family.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey M. Howard & wife, Ann, Plum Boro, PA; granddaughter, Jill Weimer & husband, Mike, Derry Twp., PA and great grandchild, Saydee Weimer. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Leroy D. Howard who died in 2000; sons, Richard L. Howard and George B. Howard; brothers, John & Paul Deal and sister, Rosalie Smith.

The family will receive friends at the Ferguson Funeral Home, 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717 on Tuesday, January 2, 2024 from 3-6 PM.  A Funeral Service will be held in the Ferguson Funeral Home on Wednesday, January 3, 2024 at 11:00 AM with Pastor Dan Cunkelman officiating. Interment will be held in the Blairsville Cemetery, Blairsville, Pennsylvania.
