Virginia "Ginger" (Monteon) Schweizer

SCHWEIZER, VIRGINIA "GINGER" (MONTEON), 62 OF BLAIRSVILLE, PA

passed away on Friday, March 06, 2020 at her home.  She was born January 14, 1958 in Hollywood, CA.  Ginger was a long time member of St. Joseph's  Church, in Derry and had been recently attending SS Simon & Jude Church, Blairsville.  She was a graduate and honor student of Blairsville High School Class of 1976.  She had worked in the X-ray department for Excela Health and in the Emergency Room.  She had also worked for the Arnold Palmer Cancer Center and the former K-mart in Latrobe.  Virginia is survived by her mother, Emma G. Montgomery Riggi, Blairsville, PA; daughter, Jodi Schweizer & wife Brandi, Scottdale, PA; son, Scott Schweizer, Derry, PA; grand son, Riley , Greensburg, PA; brother, Bryan Monteon & wife, Teresa, GA; niece, Lindsey Monteon; niece, Lauren Holder & husband, Heath and niece, Kelly Munshower.  She was preceded in death by her husband, Phillip Schweizer and step-father, Louis Riggi.  The family will receive friends at the James F. Ferguson Funeral Home, Inc., 25 W. Market St. Blairsville, PA 15717,Blairsville, PA on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 from 1:00 PM to 3:00 PM and 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM.  A blessing service will be held at 8:00 PM with Fr. Stephen R. Bugay officiating. If so desired, memorial donations may be made in Virginia's name to the United Presbyterian Church, 137 N. Walnut St., Blairsville, PA 15717 or SS Simon & Jude Church, 155 N. Brady St., Blairsville, PA 15717.
